APPLIED SOLUTIONS:
Concessionaire’s shadow toll system, which features 36 traffic counting and classification stations with loops, half with ADR1000 and the other half with HITRAC EMU; one of them extended for high-speed weighing with piezoelectric sensors.
All 36 sites have solar power and GPRS communications, meaning the cost of installation and maintenance was minimal compared to similar systems with electrical and fibre optic connections. The first 12 gauging and classification stations were installed in 2009, and the last 24 in 2014. KINEO also developed a customised web-based application for data management and multiple reports to support the concessionaire’s operation, both from a financial and pavement management standpoint.
RESULT:
All the traffic counting stations upload their data to a publication server via GPRS for decentralised web-based management of the concession’s management parameters.
SIMILARS PROJECTS:
MINISTRY OF DEVELOPMENT’S REGIONAL DEPARTMENT IN MURCIA: The Regional Department runs its own network of 15 traffic counting stations with EMU HITRACs, TMU and loop-loop UTCL with automatic data upload to the Regional Department’s website.
